I. Henry III¹, 1207-1272.

King of England (1216-1272) who succeeded his father, King John. His reign was marred by baronial opposition led by Simon de Montfort, whose representative parliament, called in 1265, is considered England's first full parliament.

  II. Henry III², 1551-1589.

King of France (1574-1589) who helped his mother, Catherine de Médicis, plot the Saint Bartholomew's Day Massacre (1572). His reign was marked by bitter conflict between Catholics and Huguenots.
