Geh·rig (gĕrʹĭg), Henry Louis. Known as “Lou.” 1903-1941.
American baseball player. Between 1923 and 1939 he played in 2,130 consecutive games, which was a major league record until 1995 when Cal Ripken, Jr. surpassed it.
