/muy az"meuh, mee-/, n., pl. miasmas, miasmata /-meuh teuh/.
1. noxious exhalations from putrescent organic matter; poisonous effluvia or germs polluting the atmosphere.
2. a dangerous, foreboding, or deathlike influence or atmosphere.
