Peyton Place

Peyton Place
a novel (1956) by the US writer Grace Metalious which shocked many people but still sold millions of copies. It is about the sexual relationships and often dishonest behaviour of people living in a small New England town. There was a film version in 1957, and it later became the basis for the first evening soap opera on US television, with the then unknown actors Mia Farrow and Ryan O’Neal.
