Murphy’s law

Murphy’s law
the idea that ‘if anything can go wrong in a situation, it will’. People often talk about Murphy’s law in a humorous way when thinking about possible problems which might happen in something they are going to do. It is named after an American scientist Edward Murphy who was involved in experiments for the United States Air Force in 1949. Compare Parkinson’s Law.
