Jehovah’s Witness

Jehovah’s Witness
n
a member of a Christian organization started in the US in the 1870s. Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that the end of the world is near and that when it comes everyone except them will be destroyed. They also refuse to do military service, do not celebrate birthdays or Christmas, and believe in the absolute truth of the Bible. Members are encouraged to visit people in their homes and try to persuade them to join.
