Guinness Book of Records

Guinness Book of Records
a book, published every year by Guinness World Records, which gives all the records achieved in a very wide range of fields and activities. For example, the names of the oldest, tallest, richest and fastest people in the world are all given. The book was first published in 1955, and is now so popular that it is available in nearly 40 languages. People sometimes talk of doing something that has never been done before just to ‘get into’ (= have their names mentioned in) The Guinness Book of Records.
