Dance Theater of Harlem

Dance Theater of Harlem
a US dance group with mostly African-American dancers. It was established in 1971 in Harlem in New York by Arthur Mitchell (1934– ), the first African-American principal artist in the New York City Ballet, and has performed many works by George Balanchine.
