Bobby Shafto

Bobby Shafto
an old children’s song, which may have been sung in support of Robert Shafto, a candidate in the British general election in 1761. Many British people know the first verse:
Bobby Shafto’s gone to sea,
Silver buckles at his knee,
He’ll come back and marry me,
Bonny Bobby Shafto!
