Te·re·sa (tə-rēʹsə, -zə, -rāʹ-), Mother. 1910-1997.
Albanian-born Indian nun. Dedicated to relieving the suffering of India's desperately poor and dying people, she founded a Roman Catholic congregation of sisters, the Missionaries of Charity, in 1950. She won the 1979 Nobel Peace Prize.
