Ning·xia Hui·zu (nĭngʹshyäʹ hwēʹdzo͞oʹ) also Ning·sia Hui (hwēʹ)
An autonomous region of northern China. Formerly a province, it was incorporated into Gansu in 1954 but reconstituted as a region in 1958. Yinchuan is the capital. Population: 4,655,451.
