▪ Mexicoin full Zacapú de Miercity, north-central Michoacán estado (state), west-central Mexico. It is in the Sierra de Nahuatzén, 6,500 feet (1,980 m) above sea level and west of Morelia, the state capital. Agriculture and livestock raising are the principal sources of income, the main crops being wheat, beans, and especially corn (maize). Several Tarascan Indian sites are nearby. Zacapú is accessible by highway and railroad. Pop. (2000) 49,086.
