Gurdaspur

India
      town, northern Punjab state, northwestern India, on the Pakistani border. The town is northeast of Amritsar, Punjab's largest city. Gurdaspur is primarily a trade centre for the region's agricultural products; wheat, corn (maize), rice, and other crops are grown in the surrounding area. Hand-loom weaving is important. Pop. (2001) 67,479.
