Mac·ca·be·us also Mac·ca·bae·us (măk'ə-bēʹəs), Judas or Judah Died 160B.C.
Jewish patriot and most famous member of the Maccabees family. His rededication of the Temple at Jerusalem (164 B.C.) is commemorated by the feast of Hanukkah.
