      town, southeastern Haryana (Haryāna) state, northwestern India. The town is said to have been founded by Fīrūz Shah III as a military outpost and was constituted a municipality in 1867. Connected by road with Alwar, in Rajasthan state, and with Gurgaon, it is an agricultural market centre. Industries include a distillery and ironware and metalware factories. Pop. (2001) 17,755.
