Central League

▪ Japanese baseball
      one of the two associations of professional baseball teams in Japan. Both the Central League and the Pacific League were founded in 1950. The Central League comprises six teams, each of which is owned and sponsored by a major corporation. The league consists of the Chūnichi Dragons, Hanshin Tigers, Hiroshima Tōyō Carp, Yakult Swallows, Yokohama BayStars, and Yomiuri (Tokyo) Giants.
