- Ware, Lancelot Lionel
-
▪ 2001British barrister (b. June 5, 1915, Mitcham, Surrey, Eng.—d. Aug. 15, 2000, Surrey), was cofounder (1946), with Australian barrister Roland Berrill, of Mensa, an international society for intellectually gifted people, which they originally called the High IQ Club. Ware, apparently disillusioned with the group's infighting and low membership of about 150, dropped out in 1950 to concentrate on his legal career. The faltering society was successfully resurrected by Victor Serebriakoff (Serebriakoff, Victor ) (q.v.) in 1954, however, and Ware rejoined in 1961.
