      Ukrainian-born Polish motion-picture historian who was the first director of the Polish national film school at Lodz, 1949-52 and 1957-68, and of the Australian Film and Television School in Sydney, 1973-79 (b. Nov. 24, 1909—d. July 24, 1995).
