Daniel Joseph Anthony Meehan 
      British drummer and music producer (b. March 2, 1943, London, Eng.—d. Nov. 28, 2005, London), was a founding member of the seminal late 1950s and early '60s instrumental rock group the Shadows, who were best known for their transatlantic hit single “Apache” (1960) and as the backing band for pop idol Cliff Richard, with whom they appeared in the film The Young Ones (1961). After leaving the Shadows, Meehan and former bandmate Jet Harris teamed on the British hits “Diamonds” and “Scarlett O'Hara.” Meehan later worked as a record producer, most notably on Roger Daltrey's album One of the Boys (1977). Meehan died of head injuries he suffered in a fall.
