American ballet dancer (b. March 9, 1955, Miami, Fla.—d. He became the youngest principal dancer in the history of American Ballet Theatre two years after joining the company, with which he danced in 1972–85 and 1989–95, and in 1974 he became the first American to win a gold medal at the International Ballet Competition at Varna, Bulg. As a guest artist during his performing career, Bujones appeared with some 60 companies in more than 30 countries. He later became a choreographer and since 2000 had served as artistic director of the Orlando (Fla.) Ballet.
