Town (pop., 1995 est.: 30,000), county seat of Wiltshire, southern England.

Trowbridge has some notable buildings, including St. James's parish church, which dates from the 14th century. George Crabbe was rector there toward the end of his life. The town is famous for its fine woolen cloth.
