Del·a·go·a Bay (dĕl'ə-gōʹə)

An inlet of the Indian Ocean in southern Mozambique. The Portuguese arrived in the bay in 1502 and explored the adjoining territory after 1544. Portugal's claim to the area was upheld in 1875 after a dispute with Great Britain.
