Bu·nin (bo͞oʹnĭn, -nyĭn), Ivan Alekseevich. 1870-1953.
Russian writer best known for his short stories, such as “The Gentleman from San Francisco” (1916). He lived in exile in Paris after 1919 and won the 1933 Nobel Prize for literature.
