English-Speaking Union

English-Speaking Union
(abbr the ESU)
an independent organization started in 1918. At first its aim was to help the peoples of Britain and the US to become closer, but it soon decided to include people of other countries that speak English in the Commonwealth, and now around the world. The English-Speaking Union organizes social events, lectures, etc, and helps young people to travel and study.
