Encyclopedia Americana

Encyclopedia Americana
a large US encyclopedia, regularly revised. The first edition, in 13 volumes (1827–33), was created by Francis Lieber (1798–1972), a German teacher of politics who settled in the US in 1827. The modern edition contains 45 000 articles and is also published online.
