3. Hasdrubal, from Latin Hasdrubāl, from Phoenician (Punic) *ʿazrō-baʿl, his help (is) Baal, from *ʿazrō, his help, from ʿazr, help, from *ʿzr, to help + *-ō, his (*baʿl, Baal; see bʿl).
