Wald·heim (wôldʹhīm', vältʹ-), Kurt. Born 1918.
Austrian diplomat and politician. He served as secretary-general of the United Nations (1972-1981), and was later elected as president of Austria (1986-1992) despite worldwide controversy over his alleged Nazi affiliations during World War II.
