Shen·an·do·ah Valley (shĕn'ən-dōʹə)
A valley of northern Virginia between the Allegheny Mountains and the Blue Ridge. Drained by the Shenandoah River, about 241 km (150 mi) long, the valley was first explored in the early 1700s and was an important gateway to the frontier.
