Winter Dance Party itinerary

Winter Dance Party itinerary

▪ Primary Source
This itinerary for the Winter Dance Party tour (see photo) was prepared for the performers and their families. By this point Buddy Holly and the other original Crickets had parted ways, and he had recruited a new band for the tour: Carl Bunch on drums, Tommy Allsup on guitar, and Waylon Jennings on bass. Of the three handwritten additions to the schedule (February 2-4), the first, Clear Lake, Iowa (at the Surf Ballroom), was Holly's last performance. He, the Big Bopper, and Ritchie Valens died in a plane crash following the show.
