- Winter Dance Party itinerary
-
▪ Primary SourceThis itinerary for the Winter Dance Party tour (see photo) was prepared for the performers and their families. By this point Buddy Holly and the other original Crickets had parted ways, and he had recruited a new band for the tour: Carl Bunch on drums, Tommy Allsup on guitar, and Waylon Jennings on bass. Of the three handwritten additions to the schedule (February 2-4), the first, Clear Lake, Iowa (at the Surf Ballroom), was Holly's last performance. He, the Big Bopper, and Ritchie Valens died in a plane crash following the show.ITINERARY FORWINTER DANCE PARTYJANUARY 23 - FEBRUARY 15, 1959BUDDY HOLLY & THE CRICKETSTHE BIG BOPPERDION AND THE BELMONTSRITCHIE VALENSFRANKIE SARDOJANUARY 23 GEORGE DEVINE'S BALLROOM, MILWAUKEE, WISCONSINJANUARY 24 KENOSHA, WISCONSINJANUARY 25 KATO BALLROOM, MANKATO, MINNESOTAJANUARY 26JANUARY 27 FIESTA BALLROOM, MONTEVIDEO, MINN.JANUARY 28 PROM BALLROOM, ST.
