      town, western Andhra Pradesh state, southern India. It is located on the Deccan plateau (Deccan) near the Manjra River. The town has mainly an agricultural economy (rice, sugarcane, and oilseeds) and is noted for the manufacture of brass, silverware, and silk cloth. Pop. (2001) 57,113.
