Lin Biao (lĭnʹ byouʹ) or Lin Piao (pyouʹ, byouʹ), 1907-1971.
Chinese political leader. He fought to achieve a Communist takeover in China (1949) and became minister of defense (1959). Lin Biao compiled Quotations from Chairman Mao Tse-tung, the well-known “Little Red Book.”
