Antiquities of the Jews, The

      an account of Jewish history from its early beginnings to the revolt against Rome in AD 66, written in Greek in about AD 93 by Flavius Josephus (Josephus, Flavius), a general in the Jewish army who defected to Rome. His writings are not always accepted as totally reliable.
