      Russian dancer and teacher (b. Oct. 5, 1925, Moscow, Russia, U.S.S.R.—d. May 2, 2005, Moscow, Russia), was noted for her brilliant, expressive technique in classical and dramatic ballets during her more than 30-year career with the Bolshoi Ballet. Especially in the West, she was also known for her virtuosity and athleticism in bravura pas de deux with her husband, Aleksandr Lapauri. In their most popular piece, Moszkowski Waltz, she followed exciting lifts and tosses with a run across the stage and a leap into his arms. Struchkova retired from performing in 1978 and became a ballet mistress and coach. In 1981–95 she served as editor in chief of Soviet Ballet (from 1992 Ballet) magazine.
