Meader, Vaughn

Meader, Vaughn
▪ 2005

American comedian (b. March 20, 1936, Waterville, Maine—d. Oct. 29, 2004, Auburn, Maine), became famous by means of his impersonation of Pres. John F. Kennedy on his satiric album The First Family (1962), which sold some 7.5 million copies and in 1963 won a Grammy Award. His career was halted by Kennedy's assassination later that year, however, and he struggled with substance-abuse troubles for many years before finding a new life as a bluegrass musician.
