cemented his reputation as an eminent photographer with his 1959 images of Cuban revolutionary Fidel Castro marching into Havana on the heels of fleeing dictator Fulgencio Bastista and of Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev's visit to the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. In 1951 Glinn began his long association with the Magnum photo agency. He specialized in documentary photography, capturing such historic events as the Sinai War (1956) and the invasion of Lebanon (1982). He also photographed celebrities, including Andy Warhol and Elizabeth Taylor, and branched out into commercial work for such companies as General Motors, Goldman Sachs, Pepsico, and Revlon. Glinn's work, including images from his last book, Havana: The Revolutionary Moment (2002), was the subject of an exhibition (2008) at the Seattle Art Museum.
