Rome, Treaties of
Two international agreements signed in Rome in 1957 by Belgium, France, West Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands.

One established the European Economic Community; the other created the European Atomic Energy Community.

      two international agreements signed in Rome on March 25, 1957, by Belgium, France, the Federal Republic of Germany (West Germany), Italy, Luxembourg, and The Netherlands. One treaty established the European Community and created a common market and customs union among its members. The other created the European Atomic Energy Community, for the purpose of developing peaceful applications of atomic energy.
