Ger·ry (gĕrʹē), Elbridge. 1744-1814.
American politician. A signer of the Declaration of Independence (1776) and a delegate to the Continental Congress (1787), he served as governor of Massachusetts (1810-1811) and as Vice President of the United States (1813-1814) under James Madison.
