1. the state or fact of being quadruple or fourfold.
2. Astrol. the division of the signs of the zodiac into three groups of four signs each, the cardinal signs, the fixed signs, and the mutable signs, with each sign separated from the next nearest within the group by 90 degrees of the ecliptic.
