/jip"oh/, n. pl. gyppos. Slang.
a logger who operates on a small budget and typically gleans the timberlands already cut by larger companies. Also called gyppo logger.
[prob. ellipsis from gyppo logger, gyppo outfit, etc.; gyppo orig., someone willing to do piecework, usually a non-union worker (prob. employed by such logging companies); see GYP1, -O]
